Haiti - Insecurity : 2,686 other people fled gang violence

The latest report from the International Organization for Migration (IOM Haiti) reveals that following various armed attacks during the week of February 5, 2024, which occurred in the municipalities of Carrefour, Cité Soleil and Tabarre, a total of 2,686 people were displaced to escape gang violence.

94% of the displaced populations took refuge with host families and 6% in two sites (100 people on the Place Clercine site, in the commune of Tabarre, which already existed before these incidents where 380 people were already housed there. Elsewhere, 54 people took refuge in a newly created site in the Ramoth de Marin school in the commune of Croix-Des-Bouquets).

392 people displaced into host families

446 Total displaced people

Tabarre:

100 people displaced in sites

220 people displaced into host families

28 People displaced into host families
