Delmas 18 : Unibank branch looted

On Wednesday the Unibank bank branch in Delmas 18 was ransacked, vandalized and looted.

Port-au-Prince port operations at a standstill

Caribbean Port Services S.A, the private company responsible for managing the port of Port-au-Prince, suspended its operations due to looting by heavily armed individuals who stole, among other things, generators, motorcycles, bags of rice, sugar and refrigerated chickensas indicated by Caribbean Port Services S.A in a press release dated March 7, 2024.

Delmas : Armed individuals threaten to control the highway

Shopkeepers and motorcycle taxi drivers in the town of Delmas say they are worried about armed individuals who are threatening to take control of the highway.

French Asylum Hospital ransacked, destroyed and totally looted

Heavily armed individuals broke into the premises of the French Asylum Hospital located on rue du Center on March 4th and 5. They totally ransacked, destroyed and looted the various services of this hospital center serving the population for around 130 years, denounces Dr. Jean Venèse Joseph Director of the hospital center.

The Salomon sub-police station burned

The Salomon sub-police station in Bas-Peu-de-Chose was attacked and burned. The police officers assigned to this station had time to leave the scene after investigating the attack. A police vehicle and motorcycles were also set on fire.

"Everyone is afraid”" dixir Mgr. Mésidor

Thursday, March 7, Leroy Mésidor, Metropolitan Archbishop of Port-au-Prince and president of the Conference of Bishops of Haiti, shared his concerns with Aid to the Church in Need (ACN)."Everyone is afraid, even religious people. As soon as we go out in Port-au-Prince, we are in danger [...] The gangs go so far as to enter churches to kidnap people. There are parishes closed because the priests had to leave."
