Haiti - Insecurity : Canada has started to facilitate the departure of Haiti for vulnerable Canadians

"Canada started to facilitate small-scale departure options for vulnerable Canadian citizens from Haiti to the Dominican Republic [...] declared Mélanie Joly, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs explaining “Due to the admissibility requirements to enter the Dominican Republic, this option is offered only available to Canadian citizens who have valid Canadian passports. . However, Canada continues to work with partners and allies on finding other options for those not included in this group.

“If you are a Canadian citizen in Haiti wishing to leave, you should register with the Registration of Canadians Abroad service https://travel.gc.ca/assistance/emergency-info/roca-faq and contact Global Affairs Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre to discuss your situation.

"Canadians and permanent residents, as well as their immediate family members who intend to travel to Canada, should apply for a travel document as soon as possible.

"Canadians in need of consular assistance in Haiti should contact the Embassy of Canada to Haiti by phone at +011 509 2 812 9000 or by email at prncecs@international.gc.ca

"Canadians requiring emergency consular assistance can contact Global Affairs Canada’s 24/7 Emergency Watch and Response Centre in Ottawa :
