Saturday April 27, 2024, following their swearing-in and their installation on April 25 respectively at the National Palace and the Villa d’Accueil, the 9 members of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) met to decide, among other things, on the process leading to the election of the Advisor who will serve as President of the CPT.

At the end of their discussions, it was agreed to set up an electoral office composed of three members including the two non-voting members of the CPT and a third who will be drawn by lot, on election day, from among the members of the sectors voters who do not have a candidate.

According to the document adopted by the Presidential Advisors, the presidency of the electoral office will be ensured by one of the non-voting members of the CPT chosen by consensus on election day.

"If a candidate obtains an absolute majority of the vote (4/7), he is declared the winner. In the event of a second round, the vote must be cast for one or the other candidate, in accordance with article 7 of the draft decree. If applicable, the same voting procedure applies."

The members of the Council who express loud and clear their firm desire to work towards the recovery of the national boat with a view to the organization of the next elections, inform the Haitian people that the vote for the designation of the president of the CPT will take place in complete transparency on Tuesday April 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Villa d’Accueil in the presence of the press and representatives of the signatory sectors of the political agreement creating the CPT.
