Haiti - IDB : Additional donation of $20 million for educational reform 25/05/2024 11:04:21
This new financial support will be implemented through the Educational Governance Support Project (PAGE) and will expand the scope of interventions previously financed by the IDB, particularly during the first two phases of the Ten-Year Plan Support Project. education and training started in 2022 and 2024 respectively. This donation will make it possible to continue and strengthen the modernization of the Education Information and Management System (EMIS) through the availability of comparative data on the academic achievements of Haitian students. To this end, the Permanent Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, established in June 2022, will coordinate Haiti's participation in a regional or international learning evaluation. In addition, this funding will contribute to the establishment of the 2024-2054 Curricular Orientation Framework, which constitutes a significant update of the Bernard Reform. Thus, the PAGE project will help finance new school programs, including digital technology, teacher training and strengthening inspection programs. The project will also support the development and acquisition of educational materials and books in Creole, particularly for children.
