Haiti - FLASH : Prime Minister Conille hospitalized (Video)

Saturday June 8, 2024, after a week of intense activities, Prime Minister Garry Conille (58 years old), accompanied by Presidential Advisor Gérald Gilles, went to Toussaint Louverture International Airport and visited the joint coordination center of aeronautical search and rescue and the control tower of the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC). Subsequently he had a meeting with doctors from the Health Management System and Public Protection. At the end of this meeting he suddenly suffered from respiratory discomfort.

He was rushed to a hospital in Pétion-ville to receive treatment; his oxygen saturation and blood pressure had dropped during his treatment.

Initial information indicates that Prime Minister Conille is responding positively to the treatment administered to him and is in stable condition after receiving intensive care for at least an hour. His medical team remains vigilant and continues to closely monitor his progress.

Edgard Leblanc Fils, President of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) who visited the Prime Minister in the evening declared "His doctors indicate that Mr. Conille is currently stable."

Associated Press journalists observed senior officials entering the hospital, including Frantz Elbé, Director of the Haitian National Police. Also present was Bruno Maes, the UNICEF representative in Haiti.

The reason for the hospitalization of the new Prime Minister is not yet officially known

In a note from the Prime Minister Garry Conille thanks everyone who visited and greets the population for their marks of affection.
