Haiti - Justice : ULCC member of the GlobE global anti-corruption network

The Haitian State, through the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC), is now a member of the "GlobE Network", the largest global network of anti-corruption authorities.

This membership, supported by the constant efforts of Me Hans Ludwig Joseph Director General of the ULCC, comes at a decisive moment when Haiti calls for a necessary strengthening of international cooperation in the fight against corruption and the recovery of ill-gotten gains.

"This is a major step forward which confirms the determination of the Haitian State to track down squanderers of public funds everywhere. This new concrete action by the ULCC will facilitate, among other things, the detection of property and investments of people under investigation in Haiti for corruption," declared Hans Ludwig Joseph adding "International cooperation must make it possible, through, among other things, the sanctions mechanisms established both by the United Nations and by other foreign countries, to identify and freeze public funds embezzled and hidden abroad; to ban the travel of people accused of corruption and other forms of organized crime. These measures will greatly contribute to dissuading other actors from engaging in acts detrimental to public treasuries and will encourage decision-makers to manage public affairs with probity, efficiency and in compliance with the international commitments of the Haitian State in matters of Corruption."
