Minister Counselor Christine Lamothe was installed as the new Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Haiti in the Dominican Republic.

Ambassador Lamothe replaces Luc Garvey Jean-Pierre in this position, called to serve at the Chancellery.

Ms. Lamothe has 6 years of diplomatic experience at the Haitian Embassy in Brazil, where she held various positions of high responsibility. In 2021, she was transferred to the Haitian diplomatic mission in Santo Domingo

Ambassador Lamothe completed a large part of her secondary studies in the Dominican Republic until her departure for Mexico with her father Guy Lamothe, appointed Ambassador of Haiti to Mexico. Country where she pursued studies in international relations and specialized in immigration issues and organizational administration.

After the usual thanks, Ambassador Lamothe committed to promoting closer diplomacy between the two Nations of the island and recognized the hard work of the Haitian diaspora in the Dominican Republic.

She indicated that her management will focus on reviving relations of friendship and cooperation in the economic, cultural and scientific fields between the people and countries of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
