Haiti - NOTICE : Imminent launch of a National Identification Card distribution caravan

The National Identification Office (ONI) informs the general public of the imminent launch of a distribution caravan of National Identification Cards (CIN) in several areas of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince.

The municipalities concerned by this initiative include Tabarre, Port-au-Prince, Croix-des-Bouquets, Pétion-ville and Delmas.

In order to facilitate this operation, new mobile distribution points will be established in the areas mentioned as follows:

• The cards initially available in the offices of Street Lamarre and Gymnasium Vincent will now be accessible at our office located in Canapé-Vert;

• The cards previously distributed in Tabarre, Corail Cesselesse and Croix-des-Bouquets will now be available at the Société Nationale de Parcs Industriels (SONAPI);

• The cards from the Silo office will now be distributed to the Town Hall of Delmas 31;

• Cards previously distributed at the Pétion-ville High School office will be delivered to the Pétion-ville Vehicle Insurance Office Against Third Parties (OAVCT).

This initiative aims to regularize the operations of the ONI and to dispel any suspicion of corrupt practices denounced by citizens. The Office reaffirms that the card is free and reminds that no one has to pay to obtain their CIN.

The ONI invites the public to remain attentive to our next announcements concerning the passage of the caravan in other comunes in the country.
