Haiti - Case Bélizaire : The deputies want a commission of inquiry

After the session to the Senate Tuesday evening,

having led to the no-interpellation of Prime Minister Mr. Garry Conille, of Ministers Me Josué Pierre-Louis of the justice and public safety and Me Thierry Mayard Paul Minister of Interior, of Territorial Collectivities and National Defense and of Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Michel Brunache, yesterday Wednesday some deputies, including the presidents of the various blocks in the lower house, wrote to the President of the chamber, Sorel Jacinthe, to solicit the creation of a new commission as part of the arbitrary arrest of their colleague Bélizaire, on October 27.

This letter dated November 14 was sent to the President of the Chamber of Deputies following the decisions of the Senate Tuesday evening, it specifies that the lower house is the main concerned by the case Bélizaire, that the signatories of the latter describe "of unfortunate incidents detrimental to the legislative body and that can lead to a crisis whose they do not want to be the audience..."

A meeting is scheduled between the Presidents of the various commissions of the chamber of deputies for the establishment of this Commission indicates the deputy Abel Descolines (Mirebalais/Boucan Carré - LAVNI), who signed the letter.

Recall that the deputies will resume their work this second Monday of January 2012.
