Thursday, October 20, 2024 around 3:00 a.m., heavily armed individuals from the "Taliban" gang operating in the Canaan area attacked several localities in the Arcahaie commune.

According to testimonies from residents, the bandits opened fire, killing at least 3 people, injuring several others and setting fire to houses and vehicles, particularly in the communities of Toman, Vigner, Bercy and Fonds Bazile... Panicked, many residents fled their homes to escape the blind fury of these criminals.

The Haitian National Police (PNH) intervened quickly, several specialized units of the Police Institution arrived to reinforce the police officers already on site, in order to thwart this attack. Security measures in the Arcahaie commune have been reinforced.

The PNH regained control of the situation and maintains its measures to protect the population.

So far no death toll has been made public...
