The shadow of famine hangs over Port-au-Prince
Amid violence and mass displacement, with 6,000 people facing famine-like conditions in Port-au-Prince, the World Food Programme (WFP) urgently needs $18.5 million to continue hot meal distributions and emergency cash transfers for at least 120,000 additional displaced people over the next 6 months.

Wishes for a recovery to Mechack Jérôme
The Ministry of Youth and Sports learned with sorrow that the former defender of the national football team, Mechack Jérôme, was urgently hospitalized following the explosion of a gas cylinder https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43545-haiti-gas-cylinder-explosion-mechack-jerome-his-wife-and-a-cousin-hospitalized.html . The Ministry expresses its solidarity and that of the sector to Mechack Jérôme and his family in this difficult and trying situation. The Ministry hopes that the former defender will arm himself with courage and the mental strength that we know him for to come back to us, as quickly as possible, in good health.

School rally
Friday, November 1st, as part of the project "School Rally for Disaster Risk Reduction and Education for Sustainable Development" https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-43546-icihaiti-environment-opening-ceremony-of-the-school-rally-video.html , students from the city of Les Cayes under the direction and supervision of the Ministries of Environment and Education participated in an activity of planting seedlings of fruit and forest trees.

Councilor Frinel Joseph returns to the country
On Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, Transitional Councilor Frinel Joseph returned to the country, after participating in the work organized by the Venice Commission in the United States, at the initiative of the OAS from October 28 to October 30, 2024. The President-Councilor held several meetings, mainly with the OAS authorities, to discuss various issues such as : Insecurity, Referendum and Elections. The Presidential Transitional Council (KPT) demonstrated, once again, its willingness to cooperate with organizations friendly to Haiti to ensure stability throughout the country.

BINUH launches an international appeal
Faced with the situation of insecurity and violence, the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) recommends that the international community keep Haiti on its agenda and accelerate the full deployment of the Mission.

Haiti at the "World Poetry Slam Championship 2024"
The young Haitian slam artist Beaubrun Youven (21 years old) aka "Bevenslameur" will defend the colors of Haiti at the 3rd edition of the "World Poetry Slam Championship (WPSC)" which will bring together 40 slam artists from more than 20 countries, in Togo from November 12 to 18, 2024.
