Haiti - FLASH : Law enforcement on the offensive in the territory of the «Kokorat San Ras» gang

Several specialized units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) including the SWAT, the Motorized Intervention Brigade (BIM), the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG), the Departmental Law Enforcement Unit (UDMO) as well as the PNH Drone Unit, are jointly conducting with the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS), a series of muscular operations on the territory of the gang "Kokorat San Ras", operating in Lacroix Périsse, first communal section of Estère (Gonaïves district, Artibonite department).

This deployment aims to dislodge the bandits who seek to terrorize, particularly the population of Estère and facilitate the free movement of citizens and goods on National Road #1.

During this operation, the police had to confront the bandits, several of whom were fatally injured in exchanges of fire. At the same time, some bandits who could not resist the imposing security force of the Police retreated and took refuge in the heights of Savane-Désolée.

It should be noted that the Police have now regained control of the section of road linking Lower Artibonite to Gonaïves (National # 1), in order to allow people to use this road axis without difficulty and facilitate the resumption of activities.

The PNH is once again requesting the support of all members of the population by providing necessary information that can help law enforcement officers better achieve their objectives.
