End of year festivities
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, during a meeting at the Ministry of Tourism with creators from the events sector, Minister James Monazard made a determined commitment to do everything possible to ensure that the end of year festivities live up to expectations. Discussions focused in particular on the security aspect, financing and the layout of infrastructure.

Haiti at the 2025 Universal Exhibition (Japan)
Meeting, on October 31, 2024, between Erol Josué "Hougan" (spiritual leader of the voodoo religion) and Director General of the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE) and the Cultural Commission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the preparations for Haiti's participation in the Universal Exhibition to be held in Osaka (Japan) in 2025. Josué was accompanied by James Fortuna and Diego Lafortune, technicians in anthropology and archaeology respectively.

Towards a humanitarian catastrophe in La Gonâve
The island of La Gonâve, off the coast of Port-au-Prince, already facing a serious lack of essential services and supplies, is now home to nearly 1,500 displaced people fleeing gang attacks. A unified response is needed to protect displaced people and strengthen local infrastructure to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe, says the International Organization for Migration (IOM - Haiti).

Ouanaminthe : 150 farmers supply WFP
In Ouanaminthe, the World Food Programme (WFP) purchases locally grown produce from 150 farmers who are members of the MOPAW producers association. The food is delivered to schools in the area to provide meals for 20,000 students.

Haiti Requests Emergency Assistance from IADB
During his official visit to Washington, Jean Marc Berthine Antoine, Haiti’s Minister of Defense, faced with harassment and crimes by armed gangs that control most of Haitian territory, asked in his speech before the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) for emergency assistance from the organization to strengthen the Haitian National Police (PNH) and modernize the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H).

Bahamian Coast Guard visits Haiti
As part of a strengthening of ties between Haiti and the Bahamas, Bahamian Coast Guardsmen visited the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center and the control tower in Port-au-Prince this week.
