On the evening of Tuesday, a fire broke out in a laboratory of the hospital-maternity of Carrefour destroying part of the facility.

Thanks to the rapid response of police and fire brigade volunteers of the municipality of Carrefour, the fire was quickly extinguished and patients and newborns were evacuated to other hospitals. Fortunately there were only no casualties.

According to initial reports, the fire accidental, was caused by an electrical problem.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Gabriel Thimothé and municipal authorities have visited the site of the incident.
