Haiti - FLASH : American Airlines will not resume flights to Haiti in February 2025

American Airlines has announced that it will not resume daily service between Miami International Airport and Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince in February 2025, as originally planned https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43622-haiti-flash-american-airlines-suspends-flights-to-haiti-for-3-months.html . According to a spokesperson for the airline, the possibility of resuming operations of the only daily service from Miami International Airport towards the end of 2025 will be evaluated.

"American has made the difficult decision to suspend daily service between Miami (MIA) and Port-au-Prince, Haiti (PAP)," a spokesperson for the company said, emphasizing American Airlines’ commitment to Haiti. "We are proud of our more than 50-year-commitment to Haiti and we will continue to monitor the situation, assessing safety, security, and customer demand, in evaluating a return of service."

"We will proactively reach out to impacted customers to offer a full refund of their travel itinerary."

American Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Spirit Airlines announced last month that they were suspending daily flights to Haiti after confirming that one of their aircraft was hit by gang gunfire on November 11, 2024 over Port-au-Prince airspace. https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-43623-icihaiti-insecurity-the-ministry-of-justice-condemns-the-shootings-on-planes.html Neither Spirit nor JetBlue Airways have said if and when they will resume flights to Haiti.

As a reminder, JetBlue Airways operates flights from both Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport to Port-au-Prince.
