Haiti - FLASH : Bloody reprisals by the «Gran Grif» gang in Petite Rivière

Saturday, December 7, following the intervention of the police and the resumption of control of the city center and the police station of Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite, the popular justice movement "Bwa Kale" reassured by this police presence, took advantage of it to capture and lynch more than ten members or accomplices of the gang "Gran Grif" of Savien... In a video on social networks, we see that the bodies were thrown into the Artibonite River.

On the night of December 10 to 11, 9 between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., members of the gang "Gran Grif" of Savien heavily armed, highly motivated and in numbers, attacked the inhabitants between the second and third communal sections of Petite Rivière, while confronting the police forces and the police officers of the Multinational Mission.

Bloody reprisals that left at least twenty dead including 4 young children (provisional toll) and an undetermined number of injured, according to André Saint-Louis, Coordinator of the Peace Initiative Committee in Artibonite, without being able to specify the total number of victims.

About twenty houses were set on fire, their residents when present inside were executed. Several vehicles were also set on fire and more than ten people were kidnapped.
