During a ceremony, in the premises of the chancellery, Laurent Lamothe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has proceded this week to the installation of the famous Czech supermodel, Petra Nemcova, as Honorary Consul of Haiti in Prague [Republic Czech]. It's the first time that Haiti will be represented in Czech Republic.

Petra Nemcova said she was "very honored to be named Consul" explaining that she plans to work to closer the ties between the tow countries by encouraging the Czech investors to invest in Haiti. "I will not miss this appointment with history [...] a task that is not easy" she admits, smiling and confident.

This is the first of a list of foreign dignitaries who should obtain the status of honorary consul, in the coming days, in order to develop the new channel of promotion of country as part of the new business diplomacy promoted by Chancellor, who states that these appointments, cost nothing to the Haitian state.

In addition, the Minister Lamothe announced the forthcoming opening of an Embassy of Haiti in Ethiopia, to allow Haiti to become a member of the African Union. Haiti plans to open 21 consulates in Africa by the end of 2012, said the Chancellor.
