Haiti - Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite : Bandits fatally injured, the «Grand Grif» gang retreats

On Sunday, December 29, 2024, various specialized units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) such as the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) and the National Police Intervention Group (SWAT), carried out an operation in the stronghold of the "Grand Grif" gang in the locality of "Labady" located in the commune of Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite, in the presence of the Government Commissioner of Saint-Marc, Me. Venson François.

Several bandits were fatally injured, while others fled. The PNH also managed to retake several areas of the territory occupied by the bandits.

In addition, houses and a business space belonging to the criminals were set on fire. Among the houses destroyed by the police are those of "Benben" and "Julcin" as they are known, two notoriously active members of the "Gran Grif" Gang.

Also as part of this operation, livestock stolen by the bandits (cattle, goats, pigs) were recovered and then displayed in the public square of Solidaire so that their owner could come and identify them and recover them.
