Haiti - Tourism : Haiti, guest of honor at the 15th fair bi-national ecotourism

The Fundación Ciencia y Arte, [Art and Science Foundation], with the support of Ministry of the Environment and the City of Hondo Valle, Province of Elías Piña (South of the Dominican Republic), announces the opening of the 15th Bi-Fair national ecotourism and of equitable production, this Saturday, December 3, 2011 until December 18 in the city of Hondo Valle. During 15 days, exhibitions of products and excursions willallow visitors to discover the natural, scientific, cultural and sports heritage of this region.

This year the fair is receiving international guests from Mexico and Haiti. The Haitian community of the border town of Savanette (Haiti), will be the guest of honor of this event. This activity aims to promote the conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources. Ecotourism is also an option for sustainable , economic, social, cultural development and of fraternity with other peoples of the world.

Through this 15th bi-national eco-tourism fair, the organizers want to build links of solidarity and productive projects with neighboring communities in Haiti as Savanette and allow visitors to discover the beauty of this part of the island.

The City of Hondo Valle, of San Juan de la Maguana, Elías Piña and the town of Savanette, are committed to preserve the environment and natural resources and the ecotourism. The exhibition of their products, is a celebration of the nature for human development and and the solidarity between the peoples of the island.
