Gonaïves : Terrible Accident

On Thursday, March 27, 2025, a terrible traffic accident in Gonaïves involving a vehicle and a motorcycle left three people dead. The victims were two students and their uncle who were accompanying them on a motorcycle.

France stands with rice farmers:

Antoine Michon, French Ambassador to Haiti, visited the Irrigation Support Project (PAIS) in the Les Cayes and Aquin region. Funded by France through the French Development Agency (AFD) to the tune of €13 million, this project is rehabilitating or building more than 15 km of irrigation canals across 1,500 hectares. The PAIS Project benefits more than 4,000 small producers and has helped revive rice cultivation in this area, promoted livestock farming, and supported both farmers' incomes and national rice production.

"Haiti Close to a Failed State"

"Haiti is dangerously close to becoming a failed state," warned former Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding, a member of the CARICOM Eminent Persons working on Haiti, on Wednesday. He urged the international community and other stakeholders to play a more significant role in ensuring the country's socio-economic future, as well as stability and security.
