On Friday, May 9, 2025, as part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Haiti and Brazil, particularly in the areas of security, defense, and institutional support, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by Lieutenant General Derby Guerrier, Acting Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), received in audience Luís Fernando De Carvalho, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil accredited to Haiti.

The discussions focused on the country's security situation, prospects for military cooperation, and the mechanisms for a lasting strategic partnership.

The Prime Minister praised Brazil's continued commitment to stability in Haiti, while reaffirming the Government's commitment to strengthening this collaboration in a spirit of mutual respect, national sovereignty, and regional solidarity. This meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the holding of the upcoming elections in Haiti. Fils-Aimé emphasized that the restoration of security is an essential condition for the smooth running of the electoral process.
