Haiti - Politic : Thierry Mayard Paul reassures the Mayors «there will no revocation»

Yesterday the Minister of Interior, of Territorial Collectivities and National Defense (MICTDN), Me Thierry Mayard-Paul met with the mayors of 140 municipalities as part of an approach to strengthening the Collectivities, on this occasion the Minister wished to put an end to rumors wanting to make believe that massive revocation will take place.

"I know there are concerns about rumors of revocations, of dismissals of mayors [...] Gentlemen, ladies I will be clear with you today the position of President and of Government, there will no revocation, the government and the President are a government of inclusion we are not witch hunt [...] there are changes that are made, it's normal [...] President Martelly said that it is an elected official who must replace an elected official. Based on the information that we have taken ata the level of the government there are town halls that are not functional or no more functional, people who lack, who died, who do not come... it is normal that we will act on such cases" declared the Minister.

"We're tracing a new path towards the sustainable economic development by focusing on investment and job creation [...] You and me we are the drivers of the development strategy advocated by the president," added the owner of MICTDN, adding that for "drive safely, the development and the interventions desired by the local initiatives and a decentralized cooperation," an effort of both parties is necessary "through our collective efforts we will improve production, employment opportunities and quality of life in collectivities throughout the country..."
