Haiti - Agriculture : Peasants trained in agro-ecology

About twenty young farmers from 35 communal sections of the department of the Centre who participated these past 12 months to a training, at the training center of managers peasants in Papaye, have just received their certificate in agro-ecology. These newly trained peasants are expected to raise awareness the community on environmental protection and make it a priority.

They promise to contribute in the fight against erosion, deforestation and uncontrolled cutting of trees and also become more integrated in the agricultural production and the struggle for environmental protection. But also, to cut the road to any project aimed to eliminate organic agriculture in favor of industrial agriculture.

Vernat Suprême, in charge of training, indicates for his part, that the whole department will get the benefits of this very good training in the field of agriculture, the environment and biodiversity, all welcoming the smooth running of this training conducted under the auspices of the International Association "Frères des Hommes (FDH)" in partnership with the Peasant Movement of Papaye (MPP).
