Haiti - Politic : Monitoring of preparations for the referendum and elections

As part of the process of returning to constitutional order and effectively restoring State authority, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, accompanied by Joseph André Gracien Jean, Minister Delegate for Electoral and Constitutional Affairs, realized a strategic working visit to the headquarters of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).

The Head of Government met with Patrick Saint-Hilaire, President of the CEP, and other electoral advisors. Discussions focused on key progress in the electoral process, including the finalization of the referendum decree, the upcoming publication of the electoral calendar, and the state of preparedness of territorial structures.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and his Government to ensuring the holding of credible, free, and inclusive elections in a climate of enhanced security. Budgetary issues were also discussed, with the authorities ensuring that the necessary resources would be mobilized to support each stage of the process. The CEP presented the progress made, including the upcoming installation of Departmental Electoral Offices (BED) and Departmental Referendum Offices (BRD), the opening of polling station premises, the integration of modern technological tools, and the initial assessments from recent regional visits.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the fight against insecurity remains a national priority, closely linked to the smooth running of the electoral process.
