Haiti - FLASH : PM returns to Haiti, results of his mission to the USA (video)

On Thursday, July 17, 2025, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé returned to the country, welcomed by members of the Government, including the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Patrick Pélissier, the Secretary of State for Communication, Bendgy Tilias, and the Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police, Rameau Normil. The Head of Government presented the results of his diplomatic and strategic actions during a press briefing at the Diplomatic Lounge of Toussaint Louverture International Airport.

This official mission was part of the Government's overall strategy, which focuses on three priorities : combating insecurity, revitalizing the economy, and creating the conditions for credible and transparent elections. During his mission, the Prime Minister conducted high-level advocacy with officials from the White House, the U.S. Congress, and the House of Representatives to secure increased support for strengthening the capacity of the Haitian National Police (PNH) and the effective implementation of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS).

Fils-Aimé emphasized to his interlocutors the need to rapidly increase the MMSS's strength and provide it with appropriate equipment to meet security challenges. He also welcomed the availability of allied countries such as Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia, ready to contribute to the international effort in support of Haiti. Furthermore, the Prime Minister addressed critical issues for the Haitian community living abroad, advocating for the extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), improved treatment for beneficiaries of the Humanitarian Parole Conditional Stay Program, and the protection of the rights and dignity of Haitian nationals. He also emphasized national economic recovery, particularly through the renewal of the HOPE/HELP Act, to stimulate employment and local production.
