Boxing : Haitian Thad Jean, World Champion (Welterweight)

On Friday, August 1st, 2025, Haitian-American boxer (born to Haitian parents) Thad Jean, aka "The Silverback" was crowned the Professional Fighters League (PFL 2025) Welterweight World Champion at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall and won the $500,000 prize. Facing American Logan Storley, he won by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) after five rounds. This victory allowed him to maintain his perfect record: 11 wins, 0 losses.

Ammunition Delivery Man from "Grand Griff" Arrested

On Sunday, August 3rd, a motorcycle taxi driver was arrested in Jean Denis, a town in the Artibonite region. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of a large quantity of ammunition intended for the "Gran Grif" gang of Savien, in the commune of Petite-Rivière in the Artibonite region.

Kenscoff Under Threat

Taekwondo Recruitment for Children

Early Warning System Training

USA : Radio Series "Chimen danje"

To raise awareness among the Haitian population about the risks associated with irregular migration, the United States Embassy in Haiti launched a radio series entitled "Chimen danje" (Dangerous Path). This awareness-raising series consists of 15 episodes, each 15 minutes long. "Chimen danje" aims to save lives by informing people of the dangers associated with these often very perilous journeys," according to a press release from the embassy.
