Haiti - Social : First progress report on support for families, workers and displaced persons (Video)

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, as part of the 25th edition of "Tuesdays of the Nation" Georges Wilbert Franck, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST), presented the government's key measures to support parents of schoolchildren, vulnerable households, and workers.

Several priority actions are already underway :

1. Liberation of schools occupied by displaced persons:

As part of the Multisectoral Emergency Program (PUM), approximately ten schools, including the Faculty of Linguistics, Lycée Marie-Jeanne, Lycée Anténor Firmin https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-45892-icihaiti-relocation-distribution-of-more-than-800-checks-of-99-000-gourdes.html and École nationale Colbert Lochard, have been vacated to allow the resumption of school activities. The process of relocating internally displaced persons continues with dignity.

2. Cash transfers to parents of schoolchildren :

Through the government's social support program, approximately 108,000 parents have already received a transfer of 15,000 Gourdes via MonCash or NatCash, out of a total expected to reach over 200,000 beneficiaries.

3. Financial support for vulnerable households :

Through the MAST Information System (SYMAS), more than 60,000 households will receive direct aid of 15,000 Gourdes, fully funded by the government.

4. Support for workers :

Nearly 31,000 workers enrolled in the program will also benefit from special assistance.

At the same time, 19 social projects are underway with the participation of seven ministries and the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES).

In conclusion, Minister Georges Wilbert Franck reaffirmed the Government's commitment to supporting vulnerable families.
