Haiti - Social : Martelly pays tribute to the heroes of Independence

Yesterday on the occasion of the Ancestors'Day, Michel Martelly, the President of the Republic visited the Museum of the Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH) where he laid a wreath in tribute to the heroes of independence.

The Head of State was accompanied by the First Lady Sophia Martelly, Garry Conille Prime Minister, members of the cabinet and other important personalities.

"The important thing is not to come lay wreaths, but to think about the meaning of their struggle," declared the president, indicating at the same time that we must inspire us of the spirit of Union that guided the founders of the nation.

Martelly President took this opportunity to visit the sacred objects recalling the history of Haiti as the first independent black republic of the world. The visit of the Head of State to the MUPANAH shows once again that he is convinced of the need to learn from the past to better apprehend the future.

Considering the legacy of the ancestors, the President Martelly renews his commitment to work tirelessly to bring sustainable solutions to the various problems to which is faced the Haitian people. He called for the contribution and collaboration of all sectors of national life.
