Haiti - Nippes : Strengthening of security at the Central of inputs and medication

The Nippes Health Directorate (DSNI) is intensifying its efforts to ensure more secure, rigorous, and transparent management of supplies and medications destined for the department's healthcare institutions.

At the initiative of Dr. Esther Ceus Dumont, the Departmental Health Director, several structural actions have been undertaken to modernize and consolidate existing systems and strengthen the level of oversight at the Departmental Supply Center (CDAI), a strategic location where essential products sent by the Ministry and its partners are stored.

Although a camera system had already been in operation for some time, the DSNI has taken a further step by integrating an operator dedicated exclusively to video surveillance. This agent works continuously to monitor and review the footage, ensuring heightened and ongoing vigilance over everything that happens at the CDAI.

This reinforcement aims to protect inputs, secure stocks, and ensure that medications and equipment are effectively delivered to the institutions for which they are intended.

The Departmental Director held a working meeting with CDAI staff and took the opportunity to reiterate the importance of individual and collective responsibility in managing health resources, emphasizing the need for rigorous, transparent, and professional use of the inputs under their care.

At the same time, she announced an update to the monitoring system, increased physical security around the building, and ongoing staff training on the ethical and technical requirements related to managing health supplies.

Through these initiatives, the DSNI aims to establish stricter controls, improved traceability of inputs, and a more secure working environment to ensure that every health product entrusted to the region is protected, properly managed, and used for the benefit of institutions and the population.
