Haiti - Entrepreneurship Forum : The BRH presents its program «Booster PME III»

On December 4th, 2025, in Cap-Haitien, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) participated in the 11th Entrepreneurship Forum. In his opening remarks, BRH Governor Ronald Gabriel emphasized that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) "[...] remain one of the most powerful levers for revitalizing the Haitian economy."

For over four years, the BRH has been strengthening its support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) around three key areas :

• Training and mentoring of entrepreneurs;

• Financing of promising projects;

• Research to better understand the challenges and opportunities in this strategic sector.

These initiatives support a productive sector that represents nearly 25% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and plays a vital role in job creation.

During this Forum, Riphard Sérent, an executive at the Central Bank of Haiti (BRH), presented the Booster PME III program, emphasizing the central focus of this new phase : supporting 300 businesses in three regions of the country, across various sectors including agriculture, agribusiness, tourism, crafts, and digital services.

Riphard Sérent reiterated that the program is designed to:

• Empower businesses financially;

• Train and provide technical guidance to project leaders;

• Facilitate access to financing;

• Strengthen financial inclusion in line with the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (SNIF) launched in 2014;

• Improve the financial literacy of entrepreneurs according to the National Education and Training Plan (PNEF);

• Promote better governance;

• Support businesses created or led by women;

• Facilitate SMEs' access to the financial market.

With the three phases of the SME Booster program and the projects already deployed, the BRH will have supported nearly 500 MSMEs by the end of the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

The BRH continues to offer concrete solutions to support entrepreneurs, stimulate local growth, and participate in the country's socio-economic transformation.
