Haiti - Elections : The Government reiterates its commitment to the elections (Video)

On Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at the Prime Minister's office, Joseph André Gracien Jean, Minister Delegate in charge of electoral and constitutional matters, reiterated the government's commitment to supporting the electoral process in Haiti, during his participation in the 35th edition of the Mardis de la Nation. As part of the State's obligation to support political actors, the government, through the Ministry of Justice, launched a capacity-building program for political parties, which involved 1,770 members and 240 political organizations. It also announced the upcoming registration of political parties and the updating of the electoral register.

According to Delegate Minister Joseph André Gracien Jean, the government has established a support program for the electoral process, through which the State has allocated nearly US$83 million for 2025, earmarked for the technical and modern aspects of organizing the general elections. To date, the available balance stands at US$41.6 million. It should be noted that this fund is managed by a steering committee composed of the President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), the Minister of Planning, and the Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
