John Baird, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, at the head of a delegation, will visit Haiti Monday, January 16, 2012. He will be accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary Bob Dechert, New Democrat Foreign Affairs Critic Hélène Laverdière, and Liberal Foreign Affairs Critic Dominic LeBlanc.

During his stay in Haiti, the Minister Baird will meet with President Michel Martelly and the Prime Minister, Dr. Garry Conille, to discuss issues such as the improvement of governance and the reconstruction efforts.

The Canadian Minister will also host a roundtable discussion with representatives of Canadian companies that are currently in Haiti.
