The choice of naming this site after Vincent Ogé underlines the desire of the nation's founders to link the new built heritage to the heroes of the pre-revolutionary period.

Today, Fort Ogé not only offers an exceptional panorama of the Caribbean Sea, but it also serves as an educational link to remind new generations of the sacrifice of the pioneers of Haitian freedom.
