FAd’H, recruitment of 1,200 new soldiers in Haiti in the coming days

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, during a solemn and patriotic ceremony held at the Vertières military base, the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H) graduated 339 new soldiers of the 36th class, named after François Capois.

In an emotionally charged atmosphere, the 339 new members of the FAd’H took an oath of allegiance, pledging to uphold the Constitution and to "serve and defend" the Nation.

Trained by experienced instructors and mentors, these recruits completed a rigorous four-month basic soldier training program that also incorporated respect for human rights, gender equality, and civil protection. 200 will receive special training to strengthen the task force.

In his address, Colonel Neoxles P. Arné, head of training for the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), welcomed the new recruits and urged them to demonstrate discipline, maturity, and a strong sense of duty in order to fully assume their responsibilities. He also thanked all those who contributed to the training of this class and commended the growing interest among young people in a military career.

In a context marked by a deteriorating security environment, the Ministry of Defense intends to strengthen the operational capabilities of the FAd'H by significantly increasing their numbers and level of specialization. The goal is to reach approximately 3,000 new soldiers by the end of the year.

570 applicants will begin four months of training at the Vertières base during the third week of May. Furthermore, the Ministry of Defense plans to recruit 1,200 new soldier recruits in the coming days. To this end, three recruitment offices will soon be opened (Anacaona military base, Petit-Goâve, and Les Cayes). More to come…

Once the training centers are renovated, the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd’H) will be able to train a total of 900 soldiers every four months: 500 at Vertières and 400 at Anacaona.
