Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe will meet today, Nicolas Maduro in Caracas

Laurent Lamothe, the Foreign Minister will meet this Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in Caracas, his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro to discuss the new agenda of cooperation between the two countries at the level diplomatic, economic and commercial, particularly in terms of energy, agriculture, health and tourism.

The Minister Lamothe will also have talks on the issue of the effective integration of Haiti in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and will highlight the new momentum created by the Government in the diplomatic field.

Laurent Lamothe that reminds that Haiti is open to international investment, will take advantage of this meeting to discuss with his counterpart, of the modernization of the city of Jacmel and its transformation into international cultural city, in the perspective of the organization of a great summit of Heads of State and governments of Latin America in this region of the country, in memory of the assistance offered by Haiti, to Simon Bolivar, the founder of the Republic of Venezuela.

The Chancellor of Haiti, has intensified his contacts with his Venezuelan counterpart and the foreign ministers of America, in the context of the global governance exercised by Haiti who heads the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) since the beginning of this year.
