Monitoring of major infrastructure projects at the Caracol Industrial Park (video)

Serge Gabriel Collin, the Minister of Economy and Finance at the head of a delegation, visited Cap-Haitien last week to monitor the progress of the execution of the portfolio of projects of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

It was an opportunity for the Ministry delegation to supervise major infrastructure projects, and to visit the Caracol Industrial Park (PIC) and its surroundings where the MEF visited :

• Work at the PIC solar power plant, with a total capacity of 13.4 MW https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-47127-icihaiti-energy-massive-solar-infrastructure-at-the-caracol-industrial-park.html ;

• The construction site of two new industrial buildings with an area of ​​11,776 m² each, financed by the IDB;

• The restoration of the Caracol mangroves as well as the rehabilitation of Lake Phaéton, financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

These visits made it possible to observe the progress of current projects and their contribution to the economic and environmental development of the region.

Minister Collin declared that the Caracol Industrial Park played a strategic role in creating jobs and boosting the economy of the Great North, while emphasizing the need to strengthen commitment, discipline and collaboration between stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of the investments made.
