Haiti - Football : The Grenadières crushed by Canada 6-0, Ednie Limage injured

Yesterday evening, the Grenadières of the Senior women's national team (62nd in the world rankings) faced in their first playoff game for the Olympics 2012, of the CONCACAF zone, the team of Canada (7th in the world rankings) at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

The game was heavily dominated by the Canadian team, which has half-time had already un favorable score of 3-0. Christine Sinclair of the Canadian team scored four goals and assisted another, Christina Julien and Kelly Parkeront also scored respectively one goal each, bringing the final score to 6-0 in favor of Canada.

To the 66th minute Ednie Limage (Grenadière) was injured in a collision with her teammate Marie Samantha Brand, in an attempt to recover the ball in the air. After lying on the ground in pain for a few minutes and being tended by trainers, Limage was carried off the pitch on a stretcher to the Haiti bench and taken to hospital by ambulance. Haiti coach Ronald Luxieux said Limage could have experienced spinal injury.

For their next match against Costa Rica, tomorrow Saturday, the Grenadière after this bad start, do not have the right to fail again. Hopefully the injury of Ednie is not too serious and she recovers quickly. Good luck to our girls, the victory is always possible.
