Haiti - Reconstruction: $4 million for the construction of a road in Léogâne

Last Friday the leaders of the Haitian company of construction and of transport (ENCOTRA) signed with the Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPCP) Jacques Rousseau a contract of more than 4 million U.S. dollars for the construction of a road Adoquin coated of 3km and the cleaning of a canal between Leogane and the sea. This contract is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

This work is part of Phase II of a project of $13 million, will be supervised by the Japanese firm Y.E.C. Yachiyo Engineering Co and the project supervisor delegate, is the Japan International Cooperation System (JICS). These works job creators will begin in February.

The Adoquin is a technique of road surface efficient and sustainable, consisting of small blocks of cement called "Adoquin", a simple and inexpensive method, but that requires a high input of labor (unlike gravel or asphalt).
