On Friday, June 26, 2026, at a press conference chaired by Vijonet Déméro, the Minister of National Education, accompanied by ministry officials and other stakeholders, confirmed that the first round of official examinations (9th AF, Family Education Centers (CEF), and Teacher Training Colleges for Kindergarten Teachers (ENIJE)) will take place as scheduled, from Monday, June 29 to Thursday, July 2nd, 2026.

The Ministry expects 189,849 candidates across the 10 Departmental Directorates of Education (DDE).

Minister Déméro commended the efforts of educational staff and all partners who supported the Ministry in planning this important operation. He reassured candidates, parents, and the entire educational community about the Ministry's level of preparation.

The Minister indicated that arrangements have been made in conjunction with the National Program for School canteens (PNCS) will provide hot meals to candidates and staff assigned to examination centers during break times.

According to Professor Osny Jean Marie, Director General of the Ministry, all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth running of these exams in collaboration with state institutions, including the Justice system, the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) and the Haitian National Police (PNH).

While urging candidates to remain calm, disciplined, and confident, he reminded them of the need to strictly adhere to the usual rules, which prohibit, among other things : plagiarism, carrying weapons in examination centers, the use of cell phones, and the use of programmable calculators. He reiterated that any candidate caught cheating will be automatically disqualified and must wait two years before retaking the exams, adding "No one has the right to enter an examination center without authorization from the highest authorities of the Ministry" before wishing the candidates good luck in their participation. these official exams.

Addressing pedagogical considerations, Kendy Nicolas, Director of Fundamental Education (DEF), and Claudin St-Jour, Director of Training and Professional Development (DFP), guaranteed that the exam papers essentially reflect the content of the official curricula, that is, what has been covered in the classroom.

Regarding security, Lieutenant-Colonel Rosevald Boucard of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H) and Divisional Commissioner Xavier Séide, Departmental Director of West 2 of the Haitian National Police (PNH), reiterated their commitments concerning the measures adopted to ensure the smooth running of these exams.

Furthermore, within the framework of a partnership with the Mobile First Aid Unit/Motorized Emergency Medical Service (UMPS-SUMMOC) and following instructions given to the School Health Directorate, it is planned to provide support to all candidates who may require psychological and/or medical assistance.

Following the Statistics provided by Gérald Bélizaire, Director of the National Bureau of State Examinations (BUNEXE), show that out of 189,849 candidates (9th AF, CEF, ENIJE), the participation rate for girls is 53.46%, while that for boys is 46.54%.

They are distributed as follows : 186,748 candidates in 9th Fundamental Year; 2,572 candidates for Teacher Training Colleges and Kindergarten Teacher Training Colleges; and 529 candidates for Family Education Centers.

The 186,748 9th AF candidates come from 7,530 schools located in the country's 100 school districts. They will be distributed across 817 examination centers, totaling 6,641 classrooms.
