Haiti - Cap-Haitien : Launch of the 2nd phase of the «PNH New Generation: Women at the heart of change» campaign

On Friday, July 17, at a ceremony held at the Versailles Complex in Cap-Haiïtien, the Haitian National Police (PNH) launched the second phase of its awareness campaign, "PNH New Generation: Women at the heart of change". This initiative aims to encourage more professional women to join the ranks of the PNH while strengthening the institution’s image through greater female representation.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Divisional Commissioner Ernst Dorfeuille, Departmental Director for the North; Louis Guerro Plancher, Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); Divisional Commissioner Erna Royal, UNDP Focal Point (Basket Fund); and the Community Policing Coordinator, Divisional Commissioner Étienne Salvador.

In their remarks, they emphasized that increased participation of women is essential for strengthening the relationship between the police and the population and for continuing the modernization of the institution.

Speaking at the event, Divisional Inspector Nativita Kerline Jean Philippe, Head of Gender-Based Violence Issues in the North Department, emphasized the importance of increasing the presence of women within the Haitian National Police (PNH) to better address social realities and provide appropriate support to victims of gender-based violence.

For his part, Municipal Inspector Paul Smith Bonne Année, Representative of the Police Recruitment Service (SRP), presented the admission criteria, the various stages of the recruitment process, and career prospects within the PNH, inviting the participants to dedicate their skills to serving the nation.

This launch also included a Q&A session between the speakers and the participants, who demonstrated keen interest in the campaign by asking various questions about recruitment, career opportunities, and integration into the institution, all of which were answered.

Note that this second phase of the campaign is funded by the European Union, implemented by the UNDP, and carried out by the firm KONEKTE, as part of its support for strengthening the institutional capacities of the Haitian National Police (PNH).
