Serious traffic accident, 13 DINEPA employees hospitalized

A serious traffic accident involving a van belonging to Professional Security Services S.A. (PSS S.A.) and a pickup truck rented by the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) for employee transportation occurred in Delmas.

According to initial reports, the van was traveling at high speed, without slowing down or signaling, and collided with the DINEPA pickup truck, causing significant material damage and several injuries.

The accident resulted in 13 victims, including 12 employees of the Port-au-Prince Metropolitan Area Technical Operations Center (CTE-RMPP) and the van's driver. All were rushed to La Paix Hospital.

Despite PSS S.A.'s agreement to cover medical expenses, the lack of a doctor to perform the prescribed examinations unfortunately resulted in a delay in treatment.

To address this situation, DINEPA decided to arrange, at its own expense, the transfer of the victims to another hospital in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area.

In the meantime, the competent authorities have confiscated the PSS S.A. van and announced the opening of an investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident and establish responsibility.

DINEPA, while expressing its deep concern regarding this incident, assures that it is closely monitoring the health of its employees.

Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
