Haiti - Politic : The Haitian delegation in Caracas

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, received this Friday, at Miraflores Palace [Caracas], the Haitian delegation led by the Haitian President Michel Martelly, who performs his first official visit to Venezuela. The President Martelly will discuss the new agenda of cooperation between the two countries both at diplomatic level that of business and will participate Sunday in the XI Summit of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA).

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe, these bilateral efforts help the country to resolve serious social and economic problems. The Chancellor of Haiti, met Friday afternoon, the Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro and discussed with him the issue of strengthening of greements Petro-Caribe and the integration of our country to the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

Haiti, observer member of ALBA, will continue to defend its interests within the framework of bilateral relations with the associated countries have stressed the members of the delegation. The Haitian Government has noted that Haiti is open to international investment and the President Martelly will take this opportunity to announce the intention of Haiti to hold the next Summit of Heads of State and governments of Latin America in the city of Jacmel, in memory of the assistance offered by the Republic of Haiti to Simon Bolivar, for the liberation of all the Latin America.
