Haiti - Politic : Submission of document of nationality postponed

Last week, the Senator Jean-Charles Moïse recalled that the ministers of government Martelly / Conille should begin from Monday, February 13, 2012, to submit their travel documents to the Senate Committee responsible of the verification of their nationality (of which he was excluded for bias because of his stance against the Head of State and that he describes as "lame") he stated that it is imperative that the Head of State submit his documents to the Senate Committee responsible for verifying his nationality, otherwise, it will be called "Mr. Martelly and not President Martelly" adding that "the Ministers, which would not appear, will be interpellated or convened" hoping to get support from the political class to support his approach...

The Secretary-Rapporteur of the Commission strongly reacts to the remarks of his colleague, acording to him, "the Senator Moïse covers himself with ridicule [...] When a senator said that the Commission is lame, it expressing its inability to deal with my arguments and those of a parliamentarian like Joseph Lambert."

The Senator Youri Latortue, member of the Commission informed that due to a council of ministers held Monday, the Chief of Government and other ministers were not able to go to the Senate submit their travel documents, contrary to what had been announced. Only nine Secretaries of State have submitted their cases Monday in Parliament.

The Senator Joseph Lambert, President of the Commission reacted to the impatience of some of his colleagues "I think we're going too fast, let's go calmly, there was indeed a convening [...] I believe once again that it is appropriate, if there is any problem and they can not appear, they say, wnd we give them a report [...] they requested a postponement until tomorrow [Tuesday] I think it is normal [...] we are not in the if, we are in the investigation, that the people speculate... but of all manner [...] at the right time, when we will produce our report we will know who are the people that are truly foreign nationals other than Haitian nationality..."

The former colonel Himmler Rébu, leader of the Grand Rally for the Evolution of Haiti (GREH), believes that "the more we advance awkwardly in this case, more the situation is complicated [...] There are a lot of awkwardness that we begin to do around this issue and the situation continues like this, more doubt increases, but there is nothing worse in life than the doubt, if the President has another nationality is a matter which can be determined easily in terms of investigation [...] we all have proof that the President is a lover of his country. Now just because he is a lover of his country he is responsible to the head of State to tell the truth and not to let this issue drag on, because it burns our energies around a truth that ultimately we will finish by discovering anyway..."
