Haiti - Humanitarian : XIX Conference of the Inter-American Red Cross, in Montrouis

The XIX Inter-American Conference of the Red Cross will be held from March 13 to 16, 2012 in Montrouis on the Coast of Arcadins. This international conference which takes place every four years will allow to the national societies of the Americas to adopt the broad strategic and action plan of the Movement in the zone during the next 5 years.

This conference must play a key role in the context of cooperation between national societies throughout the continent. It will be very useful to achieve a common commitment and will constitute an important step in the implementation of the Strategy 2020 in the region.

Representatives from the highest level of components of the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent will be present at this important meeting. Delegations from 35 national societies of the American continent : from Canada to Peru, Cuba, Dominica will discuss issues of interest such as: urban violence, migration, relations with state institutions at the conference.

At the end of the session, the new Inter-American plan for the Red Cross Movement will be adopted by the participants.
