Haiti - Culture : Gala evening of the fortnight of the Francophonie at the town hall of Delmas

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs Laurent Lamothe participated Tuesday to the Gala Evening offered by the local authorities and those of the Embassy of France, on the occasion of the fortnight of the Francophonie, in the gardens of the Town Hall of Delmas where are gathered more than 500 guests including many members of the Diplomatic Corps.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe, Prime Minister-designate, delivered a speech on this occasion under the theme of the Fortnight : "Youth new technology and sustainable development, the Francophonie in action", recalling the will of the Haitian government to continue the Business Diplomacy and of Development based on alliances with the Francophone and the French business community. The Ambassador of France in Haiti, Mr. Didier Lebret who received from the Minister Lamothe a plaque of honor on behalf of the French writer Michel Le Bris, director of the Literary Festival of St Malo, insisted for his part on the addition of the skills, energies and desires that made this Fortnight of Francophonie possible in Haiti.

The writer Franckétienne who said he was honored to receive for the first time in Haiti a Plate of Recognition for all his literary works, commended the Government for his commitment in favor of the promotion of arts and its participation in the Fortnight of the Francophonie symbol of an entire history on behalf of freedom, equality and fraternity. He took the opportunity to interpret poetic songs alongside the brilliant Cuban band Tumba Francesa, who came from Havana, to join the party.

The Mayor of Delmas Wilson Jeudi did not hide his joy to be able to gather as much national and international personalities to such an event applauding the efforts of Laurent Lamothe Minister in favor of La Francophonie and business with the French-speaking world for a real development of Haiti.
