Haiti - Health : Awareness campaign for women...

Yanick Mézil, the Minister for Women's Affairs and Women's Rights, accompanied by Florence Duperval Guillaume, the Minister of Public Health and Population, launched earlier this week, to the maternity Isaïe Jeanty, a great awareness campaign of a week devoted to breast cancer screening and of the cervix.

Yanick Mézil explained one of the problems is that there are many women who have no economic means, what prevents them from finding good health care, of quality they are entitled to receive. In his speech the Minister for Women's Affairs has reiterated its commitment "to continue working with all organizations of women, so women can become autonomous. This means that women should get good training so that they can work and be economically independent, like that, the right of women to have access to good care healths will be respected. Today we did a great job, this campaign will mobilize many people and I know there are many women here who will consult [...]"

The doctors expect this week to receive more than 200 women in consultation.
