Haiti - Training : 15 Haitian senior officials in Seoul

The Office of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Haiti announces that a new Country-Specific Fellowship Program entitled "Korean Administrative Development" will be initiated in 2012 for the Haitian Government at the request of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation of Haiti.

KOICA, as an aid Agency from the Korean Government has performed Korea’s Development Cooperation Programs since the foundation of 1991 with its Motto, "Cooperation for a Better World" in the spirit of "Share and Serve". This program of "Korean Administrative Development" will be held in Seoul from July 26 to August 11, 2012 for 15 Haitian senior level government officials. It aims to share the policies, strategies and experiences for the socio-economic development of Korea and to promote the partnership between Haiti and Korea.

The Republic of Korea has realized remarkable economic growth in less than half a century, transforming itself from an aid-recipient to a donor in international community and now it represents the 13th largest economy in the world. That is why the Korean Government offers its assistance to Haiti and transmits to the Haitian Government through this Fellowship Program a lot of tactics that will help it to lead the country.

KOICA has worked with the Haitian Government through programs such as trainings, scholarships, projects like "Power Plant in Léogâne" and "Improvement of the Electric Distribution Lines and Facilities of the SONAPI Industrial Park in Port-au-Prince", which were inaugurated on July 20, 2012. The successful completion of both projects is expected to contribute considerably in improving Haiti citizen’s quality of life and to stimulate the economy by providing stable power to major public and industrial facilities. KOICA will continue to strive to become the best partner of the Haitian Government and people.
