Haiti - Social : People with disabilities have made a real show in the Carnival of Flowers

At the initiative of the Office of the Secretary of State for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities, more than two dozen people with special needs, marched during the three days of Carnival of Flowers. Came among others, of the Haitian Center for the Fulfillment of the Centre Haïtien pour l'Épanouissement des sourds-muets (CHESM) and the Organisation des Enfants Démunis et Handicapés d'Haïti (OEDHH), these people paraded and shared the joy of revelers under the applause of spectators.

Jarline Israël [a disabled motor] has wowed spectators on the course of the carnival. "[...] Participate in this great popular demonstration, like everyone else, was a way for us to fully enjoy our right to leisure. On the first day of the festivities we panicked, however, the following days, we deployed and we showed our talents," told Jarline, who thanked Gerald Oriol Jr., Secretary of State, which contributed to the full success of the participation of disabled people in this carnival.

Interviewed by the communication team of the Office of the Secretary of State, Johnny Bredy, the Coordinator of the Centre Haïtien pour l'Épanouissement des Sourds-Muets (CHESM), welcomed the spectacle offered by the actors of CHESM, an organization that operates in Port-au-Prince.

For his part, Gérald Oriol Jr., noted that the objective of its Bureau was to take advantage of this large gathering to raise awareness of the integration of disabled people in everyday life "Carnival is a great celebration that involves young people, older people, in short, everyone. In the context of integration, it was important that disabled people are also present."

Moreover, people with disabilities have made a real show throughout the parade, such as game of animation and of exhibition. The spectacle of dancers with special needs, was particularly appreciated by thousands of revelers that made ​​the trip to the Carnival of Flowers.
