During a cocktail organized this Friday, August 17 at the Ritz Kinam, will be launched the services of the first digital terrestrial television company in Haiti : NUtv.

Offered by the group Digital Satellite System (DSS S.A.), this new television service "uses the latest generation of digital terrestrial television, out last year in Europe. According to our market research, this model should adapt to all televisions in the country [...] The weather should pose no problem to the reception of wireless service, as it is constant and uniform [...] This technology will provide quality digital picture and sound," has informed Didier Alerte, the Director of Operations of the company NUtv.

Patrice Turnier, President Director Genral of NUtv explained "This system is very portable which will be available to allow a a large majority of people to have access to an appropriate television, of unequaled quality [...] NUtv, offers customers an alternative to cable or satellite reception, by using a technology that broadcasts all channels in digital quality with stereo sound and image in High Definition..."

For the moment, we provide our services in the metropolitan area, but we plan to expand soon across the country [...] we can transmit up to 116 channels but we work with the National Council of telecommunications (Conatel) to increase our capacity," indicated Didier Alerte.
